Creator Terms
1. Subject Matter and Managing Entity
STOORY is a service by Winnow Communication (VAT no. 05004790266, Italy). These Terms govern the relationship between STOORY and the creator who submits an idea and receives a work produced by the platform (single story, series, or manga series), its potential publication in the marketplace, and the relevant royalties. The version of the Terms applied to each publication and each sale is the one indicated in the creator dashboard at that time and is stored immutably.
2. Creator Contributions
The creator remains the owner of their original contributions: ideas expressed in original form, their own texts, characters, concepts, names, materials, and personal inputs. Such contributions can be freely reused by the creator to create different works, even outside of STOORY, at any time and without limits.
3. Final Version Produced by STOORY
By 'final version' we mean the specific work produced by the STOORY platform starting from the creator's inputs, including definitive text, layout, cover, and editorial elements. To the extent permitted by law, the rights available on the final version remain with the creator. STOORY does not assert ownership of copyrights that may not exist on elements purely generated by artificial intelligence systems.
4. Publication: Request and Review
Every work created on STOORY remains private until the creator requests publication in the catalogue. The request requires the mandatory declarations shown in the interface (originality, lawfulness, third-party rights, age classification, acceptance of the Terms and Content Policy), recorded with date and document version. Every work is examined by the STOORY team before going on sale: STOORY may approve, ask for changes, or refuse publication. Until approval, the work is not visible or purchasable by the public.
5. Freedom of Use and Publication
The creator can use, publish, distribute, and commercialise the final version, in whole or in part, including through platforms or channels other than STOORY, in compliance with third-party rights and the conditions applicable to the chosen services. Publication in the STOORY catalogue does not impose any commercial exclusivity.
6. Licence to STOORY
When the creator requests publication, they grant STOORY a non-exclusive, worldwide licence, limited to the activities requested on the platform, transferable only to necessary technical providers, to: sell the work in the STOORY marketplace; promote it; distribute it; deliver it to buyers; store and archive it; create previews, extracts, and marketing materials; ensure access to copies already purchased. The creator can continue to use and publish the work elsewhere. Withdrawal from the catalogue does not prejudice the access of buyers already served, unless there is a refund or dispute.
7. Royalties and Creator Net Revenue (CNR)
Creator Net Revenue is the sales price net of applicable VAT, payment service provider commissions, and amounts refunded or disputed. The creator receives 50% of the CNR on every sale. The applicable percentage is frozen on the single sale at the moment the sale is completed and is never recalculated retroactively: any future changes to the percentages only apply to subsequent sales. The VAT rate indicated is configurable and not yet fiscally definitive.
8. Withdrawal from the Catalogue
The creator can request the withdrawal of one of their works from the catalogue at any time: the withdrawal immediately stops new purchases and removes the work from the storefront. It does not delete anything: previous buyers retain access (unless there is a refund or dispute) and already accrued compensation remains due. The creator can subsequently request a new publication, subject to a new review.
9. Payment of Earnings
Payments are made via Stripe Connect Express: the creator must complete identity verification and provide the data requested by Stripe. Royalties accrue after 30 days from the sale and are paid automatically when the accrued balance reaches the threshold of €25.00. Every royalty is associated with the relevant payment and the relevant transfer to allow for reconciliation.
10. Refunds, Disputes, and Reversals
In case of a refund to the buyer or a dispute (chargeback), the royalty related to that sale is cancelled; if already paid to the creator, the amount is reversed via a transfer reversal or offset against subsequent earnings, and the buyer's access to the work is revoked. Unrefunded sales remain unchanged.
11. Content, Moderation, and Responsibility
The creator guarantees that the inputs provided are lawful, do not violate third-party rights, and respect STOORY's Content Policy. STOORY may refuse, suspend, or remove a work for legal, moderation, or compliance reasons, even after publication, without this voiding the obligations towards buyers already served. The creator can file a complaint against a moderation decision according to the Content Policy.
12. Modifications to the Terms
STOORY may update these Terms. Changes apply to operations following their publication; the version of the Terms applied to each publication and each sale remains immutably stored.
13. Applicable Law
The relationship is governed by Italian law. For creators acting as consumers, the mandatory protections provided by the law of their place of residence remain unaffected.
