Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern access to and use of the STOORY platform, available at www.stoory.it, and of all services offered through it.
STOORY is operated by Winnow Communication, VAT number 05004790266, Italy, email info@winnowcommunication.com. An Italian version of these terms is available at /termini.
By accessing the platform or using any of its services you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the platform.
1. The service
STOORY is a digital publishing platform offering illustrated short stories, series (episodic works) and books across several categories, available for purchase and reading online through a private reader.
All products are digital: no physical goods are shipped. STOORY also offers tools that allow registered users to create their own work with AI-assisted editorial support and, where eligible, to publish and monetise it as a creator.
Features may be added, changed or temporarily unavailable while the platform evolves.
2. Eligibility and accounts
Some features require registration. You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for all activity carried out through your account.
You must be at least 18 years old to access content marked as intended for adults and to use any feature involving contracts, publishing, monetisation or payouts.
Authentication may involve one-time codes sent by email and a limit on the number of authorised devices in order to prevent abuse.
3. Purchases, prices and taxes
Prices are shown in euro and include applicable taxes. The price of a work or series is displayed before purchase and confirmed at checkout.
Payments are handled by third-party payment providers, in particular Stripe. Your purchase is completed when the payment is confirmed by the provider.
Certain works or series may be produced on demand after purchase; in that case the estimated delivery time is shown before you buy.
4. Reading licence and access
A purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to read the purchased work through the STOORY reader for personal, non-commercial use.
Access may be limited to a reasonable number of authorised devices and to a single active session at a time. Content may include personalised watermarks for anti-piracy purposes.
5. Right of withdrawal
For digital content supplied immediately, the statutory right of withdrawal does not apply once you have expressly consented to immediate access and acknowledged the loss of the right of withdrawal, in accordance with applicable consumer law. Where a work has not yet been delivered or produced, you may contact support to request cancellation.
6. User-submitted content
If you submit ideas, prompts, texts, drafts, manuscripts, documents or images, you confirm that you hold the necessary rights and that the material does not infringe third-party rights or applicable law.
You retain ownership of the material you submit and grant STOORY the licence necessary to process, edit, produce, publish, distribute and promote the resulting work in accordance with these terms and, where applicable, the Creator Terms.
Submissions may be reviewed automatically and manually. Content breaching these terms may be rejected or removed.
7. Creator publishing, plans and royalties
Registered users may apply to publish works as creators. Creator plans, non-exclusive licence conditions, royalty percentages, accrual periods and payout thresholds are described on the platform and in the Creator Terms (/termini-creator), which apply in addition to these terms.
Royalties are calculated on net revenue after taxes and payment processing fees, as detailed in the creator area. Payouts are executed through Stripe Connect and require completion of the provider's onboarding and identity verification.
STOORY may refuse or withdraw publication of content that is unlawful, infringing, misleading or contrary to these terms.
8. Artificial intelligence and transparency
STOORY uses artificial intelligence systems to support editorial production, including text generation and revision, images, covers, translations and quality control, with human editorial oversight. Information about AI use is provided on the AI transparency page (/trasparenza-ai).
9. Acceptable use
You may not:
- copy, redistribute, resell, publicly share or scrape content obtained through STOORY;
- circumvent technical protection, watermarks, device limits or access controls;
- upload unlawful, infringing, hateful, abusive content or content involving minors in a sexual context;
- interfere with the security, integrity or availability of the platform;
- use automated systems to access the service other than as expressly permitted.
10. Social media and TikTok integration
STOORY offers an optional integration with TikTok that allows an authorised account holder to publish short promotional videos about STOORY works to their own TikTok account.
The integration is activated only through the official TikTok authorisation flow and can be disconnected at any time. Content published to TikTok is also subject to TikTok's own terms and community guidelines, and you are responsible for ensuring that the content you publish complies with them.
Details of the data processed through TikTok APIs and how to revoke authorisation are set out in our Privacy Policy (/en/privacy).
11. Intellectual property
The STOORY name, logo, interface, editorial formats and published catalogue are protected by intellectual property law. Except for the limited reading licence described above, no rights are granted to you.
12. Availability, warranties and liability
The platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free availability.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect, incidental or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer rights under applicable law.
13. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access in the event of a breach of these terms, unlawful use, fraud or risk to the security of the platform. You may stop using the service at any time and request deletion of your account as described in the Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to the service or to legal requirements. The updated version will be published on this page with the date of the latest update; continued use after publication constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Italian law. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country of residence of a consumer user remain unaffected. Disputes are subject to the competent court in accordance with applicable law.
